While looking around The MFA Chronicles this past application season, I was sad to discover it ended in 2011. It was an amazing resource for me as I was applying to MFA programs, and afterwards as I read about Jonterri Gadson’s experiences at the University of Virginia.
The MFA Years is very much inspired by The MFA Chronicles. This blog will follow twelve first year MFA poetry, fiction and nonfiction students through their first year of graduate school.
I hope we’ll be able to shed some light on the application process, MFA workshops, teaching, and anything else that pops up along the way. In addition to our regular contributors, we’re looking for other first years to guest post on the blog and share insights on the programs they’re attending.
We’ll also be featuring MFA graduates, PhD students, second and third students, MA students concentrating in creative writing, and others. Please contact us if you’re interested in participating or if you have any questions.
Over the summer we’ll be publishing introductory posts, and blogging about various writing and graduate school related topics.
Regular blogging will begin in August/September when all of us are officially in school. If you’d like to learn more about our first year bloggers head on over to our contributors page.
